Making a donation box

Obviously when it comes to making a charity website, the aim is to engage people into wanting to help and eventually donating. When it came to making a donation box, we felt it was important that it matched our house style and looked aesthetically pleasing whilst giving the user different options- increasing convenience. We wanted our donation box to be fully functional; we did this buy using HTML.

Final marking

Apart from not having an audio visual element - and that would cost you a grade - this is outstanding. So get the AV done. The blog is likewise exemplary. Well done.
Proud teacher.

Constructing the home page

Here you can see the construction of the Street Heat home page. We have carried out our idea of having warm colours to relate with our charity name. We have made the navigation bar and each link takes you to the named page. The current page in the navigation bar has a shadow so that the user knows where they are on the website. The image in the centre has the words 'we believe a helping hand can change the future' so that the user automatically knows that our website is trying to help people.

The two white boxes either side of the image will contain the latest news and we will also have a donation box.

Final images

This image is meant to show a Street Heat representative handing out a bottle of water to a homeless person. I think this image is quite strong in the way the hand on the left looks like it's grabbing the bottle in desperation. The contrast of the bare arm and bright coat shows the difference in lifestyle that the two people obviously lead.

This image is supposed to show the hard, rough lifestyle of people living in the open.

This image is going to go on our 'donate' page next to our text about what we do to help. We mention that we provide bottles of water and blankets to people living rough.

This picture shows again, how living on the streets is terribly hard. The pose of the 'homeless person' shows how unhappy and depressing this lifestyle can be.

We took this picture with the caption 'what does your home look like?' in mind. We may add text to this picture and place it somewhere on the website, possibly the 'donate' page. This statement is hard hitting.

This image is meant to represent the help that Street Heat provides to homeless people. The hand on the left is wearing a suit which is a contrast to the old glove of the hand on the right; this shows the difference in lifestyles.

Taking pictures for the Gallery and News page

In our News page we are going to talk about a fundraiser - I have recently been to a 'Elvis meets The Beatles' night (organised by my mum) and took many pictures which we are going to use on our website.

New plan for photographs

We have decided to stage our photographs for our website due to the fact that using real people may be risky and offensive.
